ELFE Preschool Program

At ELFE, we’ve embraced what the research tells us about what young children need during these critical stages of brain development in order to set them up for success in school and beyond. Kindergarten readiness isn’t about memorizing letters or rote learning; it’s about having a broad background of experiences, exposure to literacy, rich vocabulary, and social-emotional skills. We know that students do best with learning experiences that address multiple domains of development: academic, social-emotional, and physical, so that students can grow in all areas necessary for future success. We know that students learn better when they are engaged in opportunities that are hands-on and language-rich.

Our preschool program is built around a deep understanding of how young children learn best and focuses on creating a joyful, experience-rich environment. Children engage in meaningful, in-depth exploration of topics that spark their curiosity, while teachers guide hands-on activities and introduce new experiences that deepen learning. In addition to classroom themes, children participate in our school-wide “Book of the Month” program, where teachers share high-quality children’s literature and extend learning through related activities. Families are encouraged to participate through shared songs, videos, and simple at-home activities that strengthen the home-to-school connection.
